Test: Efficient training would be unthinkable without using a bike computer. However, modern computers offer much more than just displaying the current speed and kilometers driven. The Sigma ROX 6.0 comes up with a variety of functions that can make a significant contribution to increasing performance.
Particular attention is paid to mountaineers. The smart device has seven altitude measurement functions that provide information about the current altitude or the maximum altitude reached, for example. The altitude difference can be adjusted uphill or downhill, but unfortunately both functions cannot be used at the same time on the tour. A special feature is that the altitude profile driven over the last three kilometers is shown on the display. In addition to the altitude measurement functions, the bike computer naturally offers the conventional bicycle functions relating to speed. While the cadence transmitter is included with the Sigma ROX 6.0 CAD, it must be ordered as an option with the Sigma ROX 6.0. The lap functions with lap time and average speed per lap are particularly valuable for effective training. If you want to leave your bike behind and hike across the mountains on foot, you will enjoy the diverse hiking functions. A very important point for a healthy workout is the monitoring of the heart rate, but even in this case the device leaves nothing to be desired.
Unproblematic commissioning and handling
The extensive scope of delivery is in no way inferior to the range of functions. The fastening material is completely available and does not require any handicraft activities. After waking up the bike computer from deep sleep, you can start setting up the device. Thanks to the Quick-Start leaflet, installing and starting up the Sigma ROX 6.0 is quick and easy. The transmitter synchronization happens automatically and does not have to be triggered separately. After just a few moments, the computer is ready to use. The values are shown in different areas on the display, which are shown in different sizes depending on their importance. The values can be read very easily while driving and the display is easy to read even in direct sunlight. During the test, we could not identify any dropouts or nonsensical values with the Sigma ROX 6.0. We were also unable to determine external influences from other bike computers or power poles. Fortunately, no breakneck tricks are necessary to operate the bike computer while riding. The keys are large and easy to operate even with gloves.
