Cycling: Lisa Brennauer (Specialized-lululemon) can look forward to a year in white. After winning the title in the individual time trial on Friday, she also prevailed in the road race. Her team colleague Trixi Worrack was once again at a disadvantage. Martina Zwick (Bigla) came in third.
The race initially determined a top duo with Christina Koep (Koga) and Romy Kasper (Boels-Dolmans). Both were able to hold their ground in front of the field up to the penultimate of seven laps. At the beginning of the last lap, they were together again until Brennauer launched her attack. Only Worrack managed to catch up with her. In the sprint, however, the German champion of the previous year had to admit defeat.
