German championship: Liane Lippert goes solo to defend her title

June 24, 2023 by Michael Behringer

Liane Lippert German Championship

Cycling: Liane Lippert successfully defended her German championship title on the road in Bad Dürrheim. The 25-year-old won as a soloist with a lead of more than a minute.

Liane Lippert is crowned for the third time

Our Liana Lippert (Movistar), the big favorite won the German championship in Bad Dürrheim. Far before the finish, the defending champion broke away from the peloton in a descent. The extremely difficult course suited the strong climber well. Because a real main field was already no longer recognizable in the middle of the race. With today's success, Liane Lippert celebrates her third championship title on the elite women's road. Second place goes Catherine Hammes (EF Education-TIBCO-SVB). Romy Kasper (AG Insurance - Soudal - Quick-Step).
