The Rock Shox Reverb is now an integral part of all-mountain and enduro bikes. Despite initial skepticism, the hydraulically adjustable seat post has prevailed over the past few years and is now one of the most popular products. If you ask Enduro pilots which part they would not like to do without, you can assume that at least half of those surveyed would agree RockShox Reverb will answer. How did you endure stopping before every descent to loosen the saddle clamp and lower the saddle? Reason enough, Rock Shox Reverb to feel more closely on the tooth.
equipment and practice
The Reverb It is now in its fourth season and has already gone through several phases of development since its launch. It is available in the usual seat post dimensions: 30,9 millimeters, 31,6 millimeters and 34,9 millimeters.
The saddle height of our test model can be continuously adjusted by 125mm. The adjustment is actuated via a hydraulically connected remote control. The remote lever can be mounted on the right or left and can be attached above or below the handlebars with the appropriate adapters.
With three different variants, which differ in stroke, the right adjustment range is available for every body size. 100, 125 and 150 millimeters of stroke are offered.
On the remote lever, dem XlocRemote, the return speed of the prop can be adjusted. A special sealing system in the seat post with three lips is intended to ensure that the function of the Reverb does not diminish over time.
Practice.
In action, the Reverb completely unremarkable. Once you have set the correct saddle height and gotten used to the movement of your thumb, it will certainly operate the reverb more often than actually necessary. You drive up and down with fun, operate the remote lever intuitively and enjoy the situation of never having to get off again. The lever can be mounted on the handlebars as you wish thanks to the four different positions and is easy to reach. The force required to operate the lever is also limited.
The Rock Shox Reverb quickly becomes an indispensable companion. On the uphill, it doesn't tend to give way, even on steep inclines, which means that the direct feedback that you know from a normal seat post is not lost. Arrived at the start of the respective single trail, the saddle quickly disappears into the frame due to your own body weight and you're ready to go: no clicking, no annoying noises. The adjustment goes smoothly. Even adverse conditions such as mud and rain are no problem for the seat post.
Conclusion
The additional weight of almost 300 grams is used with the Rock Shox Reverb happy to buy. It makes every tour a lot easier and is also a lot of fun. Thanks to its reliable function and simple operation, it is a must on every all-mountain or enduro bike: Definitely one of the most helpful MTB products of recent years.
