Schwalbe is replacing tires free of charge on Cube road bikes fitted with the Ultremo ZX in size 23-622 with a wire bead. These tires are exclusively the 2013 special edition. A few Cube road bikes have experienced isolated instances of tires coming off the rim. In each case, damage to the tire bead was found, the cause of which has not yet been definitively determined. Despite intensive efforts, no irregularities could be found in either tire manufacturing or bicycle assembly.
“Out of utmost caution for our customers, and without acknowledging any legal obligation, we urge our customers to exchange the affected tire model at their local retailer ,” says Schwalbe Managing Director Holger Jahn. “Retailers have already been informed, and we would also like to inform consumers about the possibility of a free exchange.” The fitted tire model will be replaced free of charge with the Ultremo ZX folding tire.
