The bicycle manufacturer Canyon is currently presenting its new "Spectral AL" at the Eurobike. If you know the product range of the Koblenz company, you first wonder what the background of this bike is. After all, the all-mountain area is successfully covered with the "Nerve" and "Struve" models.
However, the new "Spectral AL" has its own characteristics and is based on a new suspension system. While the damper of the "Nerve" is floating and the "Strive" has an unusual linkage, the "Spectral AL" is a classic four-bar linkage with Horstlink.
The bike will only be available with wheel sizes of 27,5″ and 29″, with the 29-inch version having 130 millimeters of travel and the 27,5-inch version 140 millimeters at the rear and 150 millimeters at the front.
A special feature of the "Spectral AL" is the Canyon-Through-Axle System, a newly developed thru-axle unit. The rear wheel should be easy and quick to install and remove with the help of a six millimeter Allen key. Canyon has made it possible to upgrade with a chain guide by drilling a small hole in the chainstay. At the same time, they are currently developing such a guide themselves, which should impress with its low weight and easy handling.
# The in-house chain guide will be installed here in the future.
