Cycling: Phil Bauhaus just missed a stage win at Tirreno – Adriatico. The German was behind Jasper Philipsen on the third leg.
Bauhaus is still waiting for its second win of the season
The third stage from Tirreno – Adriatico led the pros over 216 kilometers from Follonica to Foligno. As expected, there was a bunch sprint at the finish, so Leader Filippo Gana (Ineos Grenadiers) was able to easily defend his lead in the overall standings. The sprint for the day's victory decided Jasper Phillipsen (Alpecin – Deceuninck) after strong preliminary work from his team. The Belgian let Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain – Victorious) from Germany and the Eritreans Biniam Girmay (Intermarché – Circus – Wanty) behind. wout van aert (Jumbo – Visma) was sixth. The two Dutchmen Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco-AlUla) and Fabio Jacobsen (Soudal – Quick-Step) finished eighth and ninth.
