Cycling: Mads Pedersen has won the 13th stage of the Vuelta a Espana. The man in green won a thrilling sprint final, cementing the green jersey on his shoulders.
Pedersen WINS ahead of Coquard and Ackermann
On Friday, the 13th stage of the Vuelta a Espana, the pros in Spain had to cover 168,4 kilometers from Ronda to Montilla. Although not a single climb stood in the way, a mass sprint was anything but certain. The wavy course also gave the escapees a realistic chance of winning. Ultimately, however, it was the fast men who got the chance – much to the delight of Mads pedersen (Trek – Segafredo). The man in green has finished second three times at this Vuelta a Espana. Today he should finally be at the top of the podium. The former Danish world champion countered an early start by Pascal Ackermann (UAE) was exemplary and drove confidently to victory. He is now almost certain of the green jersey. The German, on the other hand, ended up third in the stage, but was able to shine today with his best performance so far on this tour. Second place went Bryan coquard (Cofidis), on a stage that did not cause any changes in the general classification.
Victory for the @Mads__Pedersen!
