Cycling: Pascal Ackermann won the final stage of the Vuelta a Espana. The German was able to get ahead of Sam Bennett by millimeters. The overall victory goes to Primoz Roglic.

The 75th Vuelta a Espana ended today in Madrid. After 139,6 kilometers, as expected, there was a mass sprint. Pascal Ackermann (Bora – hansgrohe) won this in the photo finish ahead of Sam Bennett (Deceuninck – Quick-Step). Max Kanter (Sunweb) and Jasha Sütterlin (Sunweb) rounded off the strong German result in third and fifth place.



Primoz Roglic defends his Vuelta title

As expected, there were no more shifts in the overall standings. That succeeds Primois Roglic (Jumbo – Visma) successfully defended the title. The Slovenian wins the three-week Tour of Spain after 18 stages with a lead of 24 and 75 seconds Richard Carapaz (Ineos) or Hugh Carthy (EF). The points classification also goes to Primoz Roglic. Winner in the junior category Enric Mas Nicolau (Movistar). In the mountain classification William Martin (Cofidis) are happy about the victory with 99 points. The Austrian was a strong ninth overall Felix Grossschartner (Bora – hansgrohe). The 40 year old Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) just closed the top 10 by just under two seconds.
