Masnada completes strong performance of Quick-Step
The team Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl cuts the usual strong figure under a partly new name. On the fourth stage of the Tour of Oman, the pros had to cover 119,5 kilometers from Al Sifah to Mucat. And once again the Belgian team seemed to have the best plan in their pockets. By getting the Swiss Mauro Schmid (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) placed in the escape group, the competition was forced to follow up. It wasn't until the last part of the race that the captain sat Fausto Masnada (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) his attack – and it hit the spot. The Italian couldn't be caught anymore and crossed the finish line with a lead of 67 seconds - over teammate Mauro Schmid. The Swiss won the sprint of the seven-strong chasing group ahead of the Frenchman Kevin Vauquelin (Arkea – Samsic). In the overall standings, Fausto Masnada is now 55 seconds ahead of the Dane Anthony Charming (Uno-X), who was also part of this group.
