Cycling: The start of the Ruta del Sol had to be stopped after around 40 kilometers. Due to the farmers' protests in Andalusia, the local police were unable to adequately secure the race. Meanwhile, the Tour of Oman ended today. Adam Yates was able to intercept his teammate Finn Fisher-Black.
The farmers are paralyzing the Ruta del Sol
The Tour of Andalusia – also known as the Ruta del Sol – was actually supposed to begin this Wednesday. But the mountainous opening stage from Almuñécar to Cádiar had to be abandoned after around 40 kilometers. Because the Spanish police were needed at numerous farmers' demonstrations, they could no longer ensure the safety of the bike race. Since there are currently protests and strikes throughout the region, it is unclear whether the Tour of Andalusia can even continue as planned in the next few days.

Adam Yates wins the Tour of Oman
The final stage of the Tour of Oman also almost fell through. Even on the last day of the five-day tour, the professionals had to contend with very poor weather conditions. The last section was shortened to 72 kilometers. However, the highlight of the day – the Green Mountain – remained on the program. Ultimately it was possible to get there Adam Yates (UAE) confidently Jan Hirt (Soudal – Quick-Step) and then won the overall ranking. Next to the Brit and the Czech is the New Zealander Finn Fisher Black (UAE) on the podium. He had been in the lead until today, but had to give way to his teammate today. Finished as the best German Ben Zwiehoff (Bora – hansgrohe) in eleventh place in the Tour of Oman.
