Cycling: The Norwegian team Uno-X has been training great talents for the WorldTour for years. Even after the 2021 season, a young Dane will switch from the team to the highest class of cycling.
Uno-X 2021: A whopping 42 podium finishes
13 victories and a total of 42 podium places speak for a very good season of the Uno-X team. In 2010 it emerged from the Ringeriks - Kraft team and has continued to develop since then. Among others, riders such as Johan Price-Pejtersen, Andreas Leknessund and Tobias Foss have already switched to the WorldTour from this team. Filled only with Norwegians and Danes, it was rarely seen at WorldTour races in 2021. Nevertheless, numerous good results were achieved in Europe.
The highlight was certainly the world title in the U23 time trial Johan Price-Pejtersen. Auch Rasmus Tiller He drew attention to himself by winning Dwars door het Hageland and finishing second at both Le Samyn and Binche – Chimay – Binche. Markus Hoelgaard took a day win at the Arctic Race of Norway and second overall at the Cro Race. He proved to us that he can be up front with a world-class line-up in the World Championship Road Race and the E3 Saxo Bank Classic when he finished 12th and 8th respectively.
Uno-X 2022: Where is the next top talent?
As in previous years, the Uno-X team loses one or the other talented rider to the WorldTour. Markus Hoelgaard prefers Trek – Segafredo, Julius Johansen to Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert, Johan Price-Pejtersen to Bahrain – Victorious as well Jonas Hvideberg and Frederic Rodenberg to the DSM team. The talent factory Uno-X continues to run at full speed. But they are also the ones who suffer, because after all, they don't get paid for the transfers and lose their best people without anything in return.
While 6 drivers leave the team, 10 newcomers join. This also shows that Uno-X is slowly planning something bigger. Again not a single professional over 30 was committed, but with Lasse Norman Hansen, Niklas Eg and Jonas Gregaard after all, three Danes join the team who have already gained experience in the WorldTour. The principle of only signing Danes and Norwegians will remain true in 2022. But we won't know who the next super talent will be for a few months.
