Selle Italia X-Bow: New off-road saddle with an innovative structure

29 November 2021 by Andrew Waldera

Selle Italia X-Bow

Product news: With the new X-Bow, the Italian saddle manufacturer Selle Italia is launching a saddle specially designed for off-road use. The model, which is available with two different frames, is aimed at both mountain bikers and gravel riders who are looking for a comfortable and stable saddle.

Selle Italia X-Bow

The Selle Italia X-Bow has been designed for all cyclists who require optimal stability and ideal grip on all types of off-road terrain. The new model is a short saddle with a neutral shape, slightly raised rear for more stability and soft Soft-Tek cover. A new method of fixing the frame, patented by Selle Italia, comes into play. With the X-Bow, the rearmost part of the frame is attached almost to the edge. According to the manufacturer, this frees up the area of the structure that the ischial bones and perineal area press on, in order to keep the pressure of these areas on the saddle to a minimum.

According to the company, the shock absorbers between the frame and body help to dampen the vibrations caused by uneven terrain and the typical stresses of off-road disciplines even better. In addition, the X-Bow should allow the user better customization, since the new positioning method of the frame means an increase in the usable area for attaching the seat post.

Also available: FeC Alloy frame

The new Selle Italia X-Bow is available in two sizes with a frame made of TI316 or FeC Alloy and in the Fill or Superflow versions. The Superflow version is padding with a generously dimensioned recess. Irrespective of this, the prices are 54,90 euros for the X-Bow saddle with FeC Alloy frame and 129,90 euros for the TI316 model.
