Test: The Swiss premium manufacturer Assos is not only known to experts and professionals for its first-class, high-quality products. The clothes are often equated with racy high-end performance. With the Assos Mille GT Comfort series, however, they also want to offer sporty hobby drivers the best possible features and the usual high quality, without neglecting the necessary comfort. In order to combine the best of both worlds, the products in the Assos Mille GT collection have a slightly wider cut and the same high-quality materials and fabrics are used. We have tested for you how such an Assos Mille GT outfit drives.
With the Assos Mille GT C2 shifter jersey and the Mille GT bib shorts, we had two highlight products from the Assos Comfort Series in our test.
Assos Mille GT C2 Shifter Jersey
The Assos Mille GT jersey is already in its second generation and can convince with features that you are used to from the high-end professional jerseys. With a largely aerodynamic layup, however, the jersey is equipped with a regularFit and therefore offers a slightly more relaxed fit and thus more comfort. Nevertheless, you don't have to do without the high quality, because the main material of the jersey is a highly breathable, super light and quick-drying knitted fabric, which is perfect for any rides in mild and warm temperatures - whether professional or leisure rider.
With the raw-edged sleeves made of the same elastic, velvety-soft material that is also used in the Assos racing jerseys, you ensure a smooth transition between the fabric and the arms. Thanks to the so-called raglan cut, you get a sleeve design that does not require a traditional shoulder seam and the sleeves reach down to the neck, giving you more freedom of movement.
With the Triple Ramp Pockets you offer three fabric-covered pockets that are easily accessible thanks to their ideal positioning and guarantee safety and stability. The Assos Mille GT jersey is rounded off by its distinctive look. The different color gradients look simple and high-quality, while still making every ride a little more colourful.
Assos Mille GT bib shorts
The Assos Mille GT Bibshorts once again skilfully proves why the Swiss are so popular with drivers all over the world. The core element and heart is of course the seat pad, which could not be better and more comfortable in the Mille GT Bibshort.
The design of the bib shorts tends to be more geared towards comfort than racing and combines a specially developed fabric mix with the regularFit fit. The bib shorts are made from a slightly compressive textile with high stretchability. Especially the seamless waistband, called zeroWaist, offers a smooth transition between body and fabric with its open-edged and sealed edge. With the aim of getting more comfort with less pressure.
The back of the Mille GT Bibshorts features wide straps with a flat, stable structure that fits seamlessly between the shoulder blades, providing soft and supportive support. Especially when it comes to upholstery, Assos knows how to impress once again. With the revised Mille S7 Evo pad, the driver has an 8 mm thick layer of memory foam at his disposal. Thanks to the kraterCooler system, small holes on the front of the pad also provide cooling in sensitive areas.
Assos Summer SS Skin Layer
An outfit is only complete if you also have the right undershirt at the start. Because temperature regulation and wearing comfort are only at the highest level if this detail is also perfected. For this Assos has the light summer base layer with a seamless design including carbon fiber textile to keep the body cool and dry with full comfort in mild conditions. The so-called Circular Seamless structure is also used, which uses a tubular knit design without side seams, which ensures a particularly soft and comfortable feeling on the body. The sleeves are sewn directly into the armhole for unrestricted movement under the other layers of clothing.
