Product News:: Assos of Switzerland Equipe line - high-end cycling clothing

13 October 2019 by Florian Nowak

Test/product news: Assos has been one of the most popular clothing manufacturers in cycling for years. This even went so far that professional cyclists had an Assos seat pad sewn into their team trousers in order to be able to ride as comfortably as possible during their races. With the new Assos Equipe line, they go one step further and want to continue the high standard at Assos of Switzerland.

Assos Equipe RS Aero SS Jersey

The new Assos Equipe jersey is not only visually convincing.

With the Assos Equipe RS Aero SS jerseys, you not only want to make the fastest drivers even faster, but also offer them a timeless and stylish design. According to the manufacturer, to further improve the jersey compared to its predecessor, you had to deal with the smallest details in order to squeeze out every second. The result was a design that not only impresses with its looks, but also offers the best aerodynamics thanks to the so-called Assos aeroFit.

With the Assos Equipe RS Aero SS jersey, the miniCheck Tex material is processed with a circular knit, as it has been characterized as a particularly elastic 3D knit material. This ensures breathable and moisture-wicking properties. A stabilizing material is used on the back, which keeps the jersey in place thanks to its structure made of short, vertical stretch. With its high UV protection (USF 50+) together with its quick-drying, bi-stretch properties, the fine push-pull tricot laying forms the basis for a first-class tricot.

In addition to the precise aeroFit pattern, the additional details also contribute to improved comfort and speed. Primarily the taped seams at the waist and a combination of raw edged bonded sleeves that promise both comfort and support. The proven "Triple Ramp" concept pockets have been integrated on the back, in which you can easily store items on the go. The model is rounded off by the processing of a lighter elastic band at the hem.

Assos Equipe RS Bib Shorts S9

Assos put in a total of six years of development from the initial idea to the finished Equipe RS S9 Bib Short. In combination with the most advanced Assos insert for racing clothing to date, the Equipe RS S9 bib shorts combine the best Stability and impressive comfort. All aerodynamically optimized, of course.
The S9 model has been designed on the basis of a completely new concept, which itself has been developed from scratch, with the aim of keeping the bib shorts always in place. To make this possible, the so-called A-Lock Engineering was used. This is a completely new stabilizing system that combines Assos proprietary materials and methods to stabilize the shorts and keep the liner securely in place. Each strap is sewn directly into the hem above the panel to ensure it is always under tension.

With the Assos Equipe RS Bib Shorts S9, the focus was on the proven Equipe Evo use. In this case, the general base area was reduced in order to save additional weight and the air exchange was increased thanks to superAir microShock foam with 3D waffle and the kraterCooler system. Everything for the best comfort in combination with unprecedented stability.

The strap system always keeps the S9 trousers in place.

Assos Mille GT Jacket Spring/Fall

As the name suggests, the Assos Mille GT Jacket Spring/Fall is a hit on cooler days. Because the jacket combines the protection and comfort of an insulating long-sleeved jersey together with wind and water resistance thanks to a flexible three-layer membrane is offered.

The textile mix of the versatile Assos Mille GT jacket is inspired by the cool and always changing weather conditions in autumn and spring. It combines the properties of an insulating long-sleeved jersey and a vest with a water-repellent membrane. The front features a three-layer softshell material with a bonded PU membrane. This flexible, specially developed textile is highly breathable, waterproof and 100% windproof to ensure that the upper body is optimally protected. This is distributed over the jacket and combined with various materials and inserts to further improve breathability and moisture transport.

Assos TIBURUGILETEQUIPE vest

As a perfect complement to the Mille GT jacket, Assos offers the TIBURUGILETEQUIPE eA high-performance vest with a small pack size for everyday use. The tiburuGiletEquipe cycling vest was primarily developed for the spring/autumn season, but it is also the ideal companion in summer when it gets cold in the mountains or when you are going downhill. The so-called twinDeck construction method was used on the front panels of this light weather protection in order to integrate insulating and moisture-regulating properties. The stretchy and breathable back ensures a comfortable microclimate. Reflective elements on the shoulders and the triple ramp pocket concept for additional storage space ensure safety and suitability for everyday use.

Assos vest and jacket complement each other perfectly on cooler days.

Assos Equipe RS rain jacket

The Assos Equipe RS rain jacket, also called Schlosshund, is a real lifesaver on cold and wet days. Its water-repellent and insulating surface keeps you dry and warm for a long time, even when things get really uncomfortable.

Tight seams and a stable zip system should prevent unwanted moisture from getting into the Assos rain jacket.
The Assos Schlosshund Equipe RS rain jacket is one of the lightest and most resistant jackets on the market. With just 170 grams and a very small pack size, it easily fits in any jersey pocket and can always be taken with you. Despite these minimalist features, the performance of the jacket was by no means cut corners. Their fit has been designed to be particularly ergonomic so as not to lose any unnecessary strength through flapping sleeves. And the water-repellent property is also first class, because the drops just bounce off it and don't stand a chance. The same applies to the cold temperatures, from which you can protect yourself well thanks to the successful insulation of the Assos Schlosshund rain jacket.

The Assos Equipe RS rain jacket is characterized by its technically adept and performance-oriented construction and was manufactured with the latest development of the Assos textile laboratory, which convinces with its lightness and water resistance. With some features, such as sealed cuffs and collar, which minimizes friction, a siliconized elastic waistband and the popular pocket slits, which allow easy access to the jersey pockets, the jacket becomes an all-rounder when it comes to rain protection. Thanks to the 2-way zip, the jacket can also be opened from below, thus increasing breathability.

Thanks to the minimal number of seams and panels, the waterproofing of this jacket is first class. The water-repellent and windproof SchlossHund model is suitable for all seasons and, thanks to its special development, offers professional performance in the middle price segment.

Assos undershirts

The Skinfoil undershirts offer a pleasant feeling on the skin.

What would a cycling outfit be without the right undershirt. These are not only extremely important for heat regulation, but also ensure that sweat is transported away and have a cooling effect in warm temperatures.

Of course, to complete the Assos outfit, the matching socks should not be missing. These are made of high quality material for best comfort and first class temperature management. As befits classic racing drivers, these are of course also available in completely white for an appealingly simple look.
