Cycling: Nils Politt won the third stage of the Deutschland Tour. The German won the section in Erlangen 11 seconds ahead of Dylan Teuns. He also takes over the overall lead from teammate Pascal Ackermann.
Politt and Teuns in a duel for the day's victory
Strong performance by Nils Politt and his team Bora – hansgrohe! With a relatively late attack, the German secured the stage victory and the overall lead. After the runaways Henri Uhlig (German national team), Bert de Backer (B&B Hotels p/b KTM), Julian Lino (Bike Aid) and Abram Stockman (SKS Sauerland NRW), Nils Politt sat down together with Dylan teuns (Bahrain – Victorious) off. The two Tour stage winners couldn't be caught by the sprinter teams in the last few kilometers. With another attack, Nils Politt finally made sure that he was allowed to cross the finish line as a soloist. 11 seconds after him, Dylan Teuns saved himself just before the peloton to the finish, where André Greipel (Israel Start-Up Nation) won the sprint.
Politt is now facing overall victory
With today's victory Nils Politt teammate Pascal Ackermann unbuttoned the red jersey of the overall leader. Now there are 8 seconds between the two pros from Bora – hansgrohe. The German podium complete makes current Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain - Victorious) 10 seconds back.
