The Germany tour is over. After 156,3 kilometers starting in Erlangen, the tour ended today in Nuremberg. The spectators were treated to an exciting race. After many breakaway attempts, the section ended with a mass sprint. There the Norwegian could again alexander kristoff (UAE) enforce. The German sprinted to second place Pascal Ackermann (Bora – hansgrohe) ahead of the Italian Luca Mozzato (B&B Hotels p/b KTM). Nils Politt (Bora – hansgrohe) finished in the main draw and was able to successfully defend his overall lead. After Matej Mohoric and Jasper Stuyven, he is the third professional to win the new Germany Tour.

No chance for the escapees

The breakaway group of the day was fought for a long time. Ultimately have themselves Remi Cavagna (Deceuninck – Quick Step), Dario Cataldo (Movistar) and Justin Wolf (Bike Aid) detached from the peloton. The trio has meanwhile been supported by, among others, Mark Haller (Bahrain – Victorious) and Jannik Steimle (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) followed. In the end, however, all the fugitives were caught again far before they reached their destination. After that we went Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar) and Dylan teuns (Bahrain – Victorious) out of the dust. But the sprinter teams didn't let them do it either. So it came in Nuremberg to the expected mass sprint.
