MTB News: The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup will take place in front of spectators from September 3rd to 5th, 2021 in Lenzerheide. The program includes the Cross-Country Olympic (XCO) disciplines including Cross-Country Short Track (XCC) and Downhill (DHI). The tickets are only available in advance, up to 10.000 visitors per day are planned.
In contrast to the previous year, the current starting position for the forthcoming event in Lenzerheide looks very promising. The epidemiological situation in Switzerland has improved to such an extent that holding an event of this magnitude in compliance with official requirements is currently not a problem. The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide can even take place in front of spectators. The organizing committee is planning the event with up to 10.000 visitors per day, and the situation in this regard is constantly being reassessed. OC President Christoph Müller: “We know from experience that the pandemic is unpredictable and the situation can change from one day to the next. As of today, however, we are confident that we can organize an unforgettable bike festival like in previous years".
There will be no box office this year. If you want to be there live at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide, you have to buy your ticket online before the event at mtbworldcup.ch. In addition, all event participants must present a Covid certificate in paper form or as a PDF document with a QR code. This not only affects the visitors, but also the athletes, supervisors, helpers, etc. Since a negative rapid antigen test is sufficient (this can be done free of charge in the pharmacy), there are no additional costs for the visitors. Convalescents whose Covid illness was no longer than 180 days ago can apply for the Covid certificate from their canton using an online form.
