Product news: With the new Grade Power Series, GT Bikes, a manufacturer well-known from the MTB sector, is bringing its tried-and-tested gravel bike in three motorized versions for off-road fans and commuters. The E-Graveler remains true to its typical "Triple Triangle" and wants to offer the rider the best riding comfort and additional power through the special transition of the seat stays into the main frame.
GT should be known to most as a manufacturer of mountain bikes, because even if GT was once a sponsor of the Belgian lottery team a good 20 years ago, the bikes were only able to assert themselves to a limited extent in road racing. But you could score a lot more with your high-quality bikes on rougher ground and set accents again and again. With the new GT Grade Power Series models, you are now daring to enter the e-gravel bike scene. The models were based on the "classic" GT grade gravel bikes designed, which we also tested in the Carbon Pro version.
It is also clear that the Grade models of the GT Power Series should not be without the famous Triple Triangles, in which the seat stays are completely decoupled from the seat tube. This promises a pleasant flex of the rear end, which should noticeably improve comfort. The off-road capability of the models should also be top priority, as with the non-motorized GT Grade. With a lot of tire clearance of up to 42mm width, you want to make this sufficiently possible. The mounting points on the Power Series models are similar to those on the GT Grade Carbon, because here, too, they try to offer all the options for bags, mudguards, luggage racks or even three bottle holders.
GT Grade Power Series: Propulsion System
The frame of the Grade Power Series is made of 6061 aluminum and also comes with a high-quality full carbon fork. The X35+ drive system from Ebikemotion can be found on all models, which should bring a good boost with 250 watts, which arrives directly at the rear wheel hub. The battery with a capacity of 250 Wh is nicely and simply hidden in the down tube. The attractively integrated control element on the top tube complements the ebikemotion app and thus offers the best connectivity.
The models at a glance
GT Grade Power AMP
With the GT eGrade AMP, the manufacturer has put together a high-quality overall package. The mixture of mechanical Shimano GRX 800 and 600 with a chain ring is impressive and the 42 WTB Resolute TCS tires promise a lot of grip and comfort when it really counts. With 3.199 euros you make an initial price announcement for such an e-gravel bike.
GT Grade Power Bolt
The GT eGrade Bolt shines in glossy turquoise and is certainly a real eye-catcher. With mechanical Shimano GRX 400 and 2×10 drive you have long-lasting shifting performance included. The WTB Nano tires with a width of 40mm always convince with good all-round properties. The whole thing is available for 2.799 euros.
GT Grade Power Current
A somewhat unconventional approach is followed with the GT eGrade Current, which comes with a flat bar suitable for commuters. Nevertheless, the frame and the WTB Nano tires offer the best off-road suitability for use on gravel roads. The overall package, which is available for 1 euros, is rounded off with a Microshift Advent X 10×2.399 drive.
