Cycling: The UAE Tour is over. This Saturday Caleb Ewan clinched his first win of the season. The German Phil Bauhaus was third. Tadej Pogacar celebrates overall victory.
Ewan wins just ahead of Bennett and Bauhaus
At the end of the UAE Tour, there was another mass sprint on the 147-kilometer stage from Yas Mall to Abu Dhabi Breakwater. This time, however, the two-time winner had to Sam Bennett (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) content with second place. The Australian passed him in his typical driving style Caleb ewan (Lotto – Soudal). The German can look forward to third place Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious). Also made you sit up and take notice André Greipel (Israel Start-Up Nation) in sixth place. Pascal Ackermann (Bora – hansgrohe) had to settle for eleventh place this time.
Pogacar confidently to overall victory
As expected, the tour winner left nothing to burn Tadej pogacar (UAE). The Slovenian wins the UAE Tour by a margin of 35 seconds Adam Yates (Ineos) after suffering a 10-second penalty yesterday. Allegedly he pushed another driver. Completed the UAE Tour podium Joao almeida (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) from Portugal. Emmanuel Buchman (Bora – hansgrohe) is twelfth. Unlucky yesterday especially Florian Stork (DSM). In a fall he broke his kneecap and several ribs. He had to leave the tour and thus give up his twelfth place overall.
