UAE Tour #2: Caleb Ewan has the best legs again at Hatta Dam

Cycling: Caleb Ewan (Lotto – Soudal) crossed the finish line first at Hatta Dam. The Australian repeats his victory from last year and takes the lead in the overall standings.

Ewan wins the toughest sprint of the season

The cycling fans get to see many sprints over a period of twelve months. One of the must-sees is undoubtedly the sprint up to the Hatta Dam every year. On today's second stage of the UAE Tour it was that time again - and the spectators were not disappointed. After the breakaways were caught, it was finally up a short, poisonous ramp to the finish line. As in the previous year should be here Caleb ewan (Lotto – Soudal) prove to be the fastest man. For him - only 1,65 m tall and about 66 kg heavy - these conditions are of course made for him.

Zabel is in great form as fifth

In Sam Bennett (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) but he did not find an easy challenger to defeat. The Irish Master has come up with something. Immediately after the corner he attacked from the front into the ramp. However, Caleb Ewan was not surprised and stayed right on his rear wheel. When Sam Bennett ran out of breath a few meters before the finish line - after all, he is 13 cm taller and a few kg heavier - the Australian passed easily. Two seconds separated them at the finish line. The third place Arnaud Demare (Groupama – FDJ) even arrived four seconds later. The German also presented himself strong in fifth place Rick Zabel (Israel Start Up Nation).
