iXS Trigger MIPS: Trigger helmet series now with MIPS Brain Protection System

15 January 2021 by Andrew Waldera

IXS Trigger MIPS

Product news: Starting next week, the helmets in the iXS Trigger series will be available with the MIPS Brain Protection System. MIPS combines comfort with the highest protection and thus ensures increased safety when riding. The integrated MIPS padding reduces rotational forces on the brain caused by oblique impacts on the head during a fall. Both the Trigger FF and the Trigger AM benefit from the improved protection.

Trigger FF MIPS full face helmet

The full face helmet Trigger FF is characterized by its patented inmould technology. The unique construction, in which the EPS chin guard is connected to the head protection in a combined unit, is intended to ensure the strength of the structure while reducing weight and improving ventilation. The Trigger FF has specially arranged ventilation openings for air circulation and continuous cooling. In order to allow the user an uncomplicated vertical and horizontal adjustment, iXS donated the ErgoFit Ultra adjustment wheel with precision gearing to the helmet. The Trigger FF is closed with a Fidlock magnetic closure. The two-stage adjustable visor allows the rider to place the goggle underneath the visor on the forehead. With a weight of around 595 grams, the full-face helmet is one of the lightest models in its class.

Trigger AM MIPS all-mountain and trail helmet

As with the Trigger FF, the in-mould technology with a firm connection between the helmet shell and the EPS inner material also ensures a high level of protection for the Trigger AM. The high number of ventilation openings and their arrangement angle should ensure excellent air circulation and continuous cooling. Other features of the all-mountain and trail helmet are the ErgoFit Ultra system with horizontal and vertical adjustment, the Fidlock magnetic closure and the three-stage adjustable visor. The latter offers enough space to place the goggles underneath the visor on the forehead. The Trigger AM is available in the sizes SM (54-58cm) or ML (58-62cm) for 169 euros. The price of the Trigger FF, which is available in three sizes, is 269 euros. Both the Trigger FF and the Trigger AM are available in different colors as well as special camo editions.
