Product news: With new model series, new engines and an individual look, which you can choose according to your own taste. With that comes the Drössiger e-bikes for 2021. Exciting? We were able to take a look at the new developments.
Anyone who knows the brand from Eschweiler will see immediately: The design of the new Drössiger e-bikes 2021 has been completely redesigned. With the integrable Shimano battery, the blacksmith from western Germany can now add a good design shovel: All new e-bikes now hide their energy storage in the down tube. And skillfully. This creates a completely new line: tidy, as you know it from Drössiger, but even clearer and straighter. The design doesn't appear cold, but quite emotional and really makes you want to get started.
Drössiger e-bikes 2021: wide-ranging e-bikes for the city
This already starts with the models of the CTA Steps series. The city and trekking pedelecs with aluminum frames are not just shopping bikes. Of course, they are also ideal for walking through the city and for shopping. But thanks to their well-balanced geometry and equipment, they should be able to do a lot more: "Actually, 'all-rounder' is the right word," says Holger Bülles, product manager at Drössiger, confidently. So the e-bikes are also ideally suited for the big tour - from the luggage rack to the tires. "For example, we deliberately rely on the Tour version of Schwalbe Marathon," he continues.
This means that the wheels with tire profile for one or the other way off asphalt not only do justice to the city, but also to the Danube Cycle Path. If you have clear preferences, you can choose the line with derailleur gears for sporty and touring-oriented use. If city use dominates, hub gear variants are also available.
In addition, of course, as with all model series, there are “a whopping 40.000 design options: you can choose between 24 colors in matt and glossy. There are also decors in 12 different colours. Everyone gets their own unique bike!” This is made possible by a special feature: Drössiger has its own paint shop in Eschweiler. Entry into the derailleur model is 3400 euros.

But not only the look can be selected: As a special treat, Drössiger will return to custom-made in all model series from summer '21: There will then be standard versions, optimized in terms of price-performance and quick availability; in addition to the variable design, there will also be different equipment options. This should then mainly affect ergonomic components, types of gears or suspension forks (on E-MTBs) and similar optional equipment. In this way, the customer can adapt the new e-bike exactly to his needs.
Shimano's new one in action
The new Shimano EP2020 motor was presented internationally in autumn 8 and is already installed in the new Drössiger mountain bike models. A whopping 85 Newton meters of torque with 300 grams less weight compared to the popular predecessor, these are the most important key data of the power plant. It's in the hardtail e-mountain bike Ride.E, which is available in a standard and lady frame shape with a lowered top tube. The battery can also be found in the down tube. You can charge in the frame or – for example, if this is not possible in the garage – with the battery removed wherever you want. To do this, remove the protective cover on the underside of the down tube and swing out the battery pack. The 504 watt hour capacity should be enough for a range of up to 100 kilometers.
By integrating the power storage, Drössiger was able to make the frame design extremely clear and straight, and the triangle of the E.Ride looks like it was calculated by Pythagoras himself. The trail artist will roll over the counter from 3.638 euros.
Drössiger E-Bikes 2021 – Fully Integrated
The E.One is estimated at a good 700 euros more. The new fully with the new EP8 motor from Shimano should translate even more power into propulsion, especially on demanding terrain. In addition to the anticipation of the descent, there is also fun with the uphill flow, even or especially when the route is technically more demanding. Of course, the battery has also been integrated into the aluminum down tube of the new E.One. In addition to the advantages mentioned, this lowers the center of gravity, which also benefits the handling of the E-One.
In this area in particular, the component configuration that will be offered soon should win many friends, because here you can not only choose who, for example, places less value on huge suspension travel or a wider range of gear ratios, can then not only tailor their dream bike to you, but also to lower-cost configurations also save money. A higher-quality fork, but compromises in gearing? Why not. “Our goal is to perfectly adapt the models to the driver,” agrees Holger Bülles.
A real jack of all trades
The Ride.SUV series is also new to the range – on wide, robust slippers. Like the automobile role model, the SUV on two wheels should combine the best of two worlds – suitability for everyday use and off-road capability. And Drössiger doesn't just say that casually. The frames and thus also the geometry of the Ride.SUV models have the hardtail MTBs as their ancestors and the suspension forks also come from this area. What is the result? Touring all-rounders that are also great fun on really rough slopes or even trails, but can also score in everyday life thanks to high-quality mudguards, luggage racks and lights. Wherever the tour leads - the Ride.SUVs should be fun on any surface. So that this does not only work for MTB experienced people, Drössiger deliberately builds on comfort ergonomics. "We are adapting the SUVs to the comfort and ergonomics requirements of the customer group with handlebars with a high rise and shorter stems, among other things," explains the product manager.
The forge therefore also offers two different frame shapes: the classic diamond frame of the MTB and a version with a steeply sloping top tube for people who want to climb comfortably. After all, women are often used to climbing comfortably over the frame and not over the saddle with a wide leg swing. For the drives, the manufacturer relies on the powerful and economical Shimano E7000 mid-engine. Entry into the new SUV class will be around 3.770 euros.
Drössiger e-bikes - bikes from the western Rhineland
Ultimately, the new Drössiger e-bike lines have great added value: a lot of technical know-how and performance in their respective areas and within the limits of design that can be determined by the buyer. If you want to try the latter, you can try out the almost self-explanatory color configurator for the frame, rear triangle and decorative color.
And by the way, with every Drössiger e-bike you buy a bike that is developed and assembled in Germany. This is sustainable and inspires a lot of trust when it comes to the quality of the assembly. On-site quality control and direct access when something needs to be fine-tuned pays off. Also for the customers. After all, we are all about one thing: driving pleasure that lasts.
