News: We were able to see that ABS systems ensure additional safety on e-bikes field test already experienced. Rollovers or locking of the front wheel - especially in the case of panic braking - can be prevented with ABS systems. The Italian manufacturer Blubrake is breaking new ground with its ABS: it is the first anti-lock braking system for e-bikes to be completely integrated into the frame. Now a Crescent City e-bike with Blubrake ABS has been voted “Bike of the year” in Finland.
Bulls and Crescent are among the first manufacturers to install the innovative Blubrake ABS on their e-bikes. While Bulls used the Italian ABS system on sporty bikes like the Copperhead Evo AM3 ABS used, the Swedish manufacturer Crescent, which is still relatively unknown to us, uses it on a city e-bike.
Bike of the Year in Finland
Now the Crescent Ellie 7-VXL ABS Koppla has received the “Bike of the Year Award” at the GoExpo in Helsinki. The jury was impressed by the tidy look and the safety-related advantages.
Fabio Todeschini, CEO of Blubrake:
“We are pleased that Crescent has placed their trust in our technology. In inner-city traffic in particular, unexpected driving situations can often arise in which you have to brake unexpectedly. With the ABS from blubrake, the front wheel can be braked in a controlled manner despite emergency braking - and can still be controlled at the same time. The integrated solution in the frame is aesthetically perfect and technically flawless for bikes in this area.”
