Campagnolo Bora WTO 33: New multi-purpose impeller for different types of routes

20 January 2020 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: Campagnolo is adding a new 33 mm profile to the WTO aero carbon wheel series, which has been optimized in the wind tunnel. The Campagnolo Bora WTO 33 wheels, which according to the manufacturer are also suitable for the most demanding goals when riding uphill, are available as disc brake or rim versions.

The new Campagnolo Bora WTO 33 wheel complements the existing WTO line with 45, 60 and 77 profiles with a 33 millimeter version. In order to improve the aerodynamic performance of the wheel, every wheel component has been optimized in the wind tunnel. The new family member of the Aero Carbon wheel series is characterized by many advantages. According to Campagnolo, these can be seen on different types of routes, from sprints to relaunches after corners. According to information, however, comfort and efficiency on flat stretches do not have to be sacrificed. The Campagnolo Bora WTO 33 wheel should therefore also be suitable for the most demanding goals when riding uphill.

“This profile is another choice so that we can adapt even better to the different routes we travel during the season. I've ridden it for several kilometers and I have to say that it's a really versatile wheel” – Marco Marcato, UAE Team Emirates pro

The USB ceramic bearings and the traditional G3 spoking, which has been further optimized through the use of specially developed elements with an elliptical cross-section, have been retained in the new wheelset. According to Campagnolo, the inner channel of the 19 mm rim has been designed to work optimally with a 25 mm tire profile, but is also compatible with the classic 23 mm or the more comfortable 28 mm tires. 2-Way Fit technology ensures compatibility with both clincher and tubeless tires. The new Bora WTO 33 wheel is available in two versions: as a disc brake or rim version, the price is 2.160 euros each.
