MTB News: Preparations for the fourth edition of the Vaude Engadin Bike Giro are in full swing. From June 28th to 30th, the mountain bike stage race will once again lead professional and amateur athletes through the fascinating Engadine mountains. For the 2019 edition, the organizer promises route optimizations with even more breathtaking trails.
The fourth edition of the Vaude Engadin Bike Giro mountain bike stage race for everyone and professionals starts in just under three weeks. The organizer has further optimized the route for the 2019 edition and included even more trails. The 2-day race in the heart of the Engadine mountains, classified as UCI Category S3, begins on Friday afternoon with a new opening stage. The starting signal for the Vaude Engadin Bike Giro 2019 will be on the Piz Nair, which is over 3000 meters high. The finish of the individual time trial is marked after 27 kilometers from St. Moritz-Salastrain. On Saturday, the king's stage begins as usual, starting and finishing at Lake Silvaplana (Mulets). The program includes a robust 76,4 kilometers with 2127 meters in altitude. The route takes cyclists via Pontresina (near the youth hostel) and Samedan, Alp Muntatsch. The Foppettas Trail then takes you from St. Moritz back to Silvaplana. This is also where the third final day begins. On the 72,8 kilometer final stage through gorges and on trails via Sils, Maloja and Corvatsch, 2244 meters in altitude have to be mastered. The destination is Silvaplana again.
The organizer expects up to 2019 participants at the Vaude Engadin Bike Giro 400. The online entry portal for the 3-day mountain bike stage race for everyone and professionals is open until June 22nd.
