Product news: At Eurobike 2018, the British brand Squire presented its first keyless bicycle lock with Bluetooth technology. The intelligent Inigma padlock is controlled via an app that is not only available for Android and iOS smartphones, but also for the Apple Watch.
The traditional British family company Squire has been dedicated to innovative security solutions since 1780. With the Inigma U-lock, the brand presented a state-of-the-art bicycle lock with Bluetooth technology at last year's Eurobike. A special app, which is available for Android and iOS as well as for the Apple Watch, makes a conventional key superfluous. As soon as the user is in the immediate vicinity of the secured bike, the smartphone or app searches for the lock and activates it. The manual opening of the Squire Inigma is then done by pressing a button on the U-lock and turning the corresponding switch. To lock, you only have to close the bracket and then turn the switch.
Squire Inigma encryption software with AES 256-bit encryption
The Squire Inigma bike lock features a hardened boron steel shackle and an armored lock body. The mechanical function was tested by Sold Secure and awarded the Gold seal. The encryption software with AES 256-bit encryption also promises maximum security. According to the manufacturer, the battery integrated in the Inigma padlock lasts around four months on average. If the battery power is low, the app will issue a corresponding warning message, and the device will then be charged via the USB port. One of the many features of the innovative lock is the transfer of authorization to other users. This can be limited in time and revoked at any time. If the smartphone is lost for any reason, it is of course possible to withdraw authorization from your own smartphone.
The Squire Inigma U-lock has been available since the end of May www.squirelocks.co.uk, the Bocholter mail order company Rose Bikes and the wholesalers Ra-CO and CCM-Sport.
