Test: The BMC Timemachine Road proves to be one of the most aerodynamic overall concepts in our test field. Thanks to full integration and a special frame shape including an aero module at the level of the bottle holder, the BMC is at the forefront when it comes to aerodynamics and a clean look.
BMC Timemachine Road – The frame
When you look at the frame of the BMC Timemachine Road for the first time, you can immediately see that something is different than usual aerobikes. This is not only due to the general frame shape of the BMC, but also to the innovative Aero Module, which fills the frame triangle in such a way that the bottles can fit in perfectly to achieve the best aerodynamics. In addition to the aero module, the aerodynamic tube shape and the integration of the ICS Aero Cockpit also contribute to the speed, which could be optimized thanks to precise CFD simulations and wind tunnel tests. Of course, the full integration should not come at the expense of functionality and comfort. This is ensured by the TCC Speed technology, which minimizes the vibrations of the road and thus combines rolling speed and power transmission with a pleasant driving experience. The Timemachine Road's carbon fiber layup filters road vibrations through the fork and lowered seatstays to make power transfer even more efficient. The flattened ICS Aero stem offers comfort and control without negatively affecting the aerodynamics.

Our BMC Timemachine Road came with extra class equipment. With the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 you not only combine the best shifting performance with timeless style, but also weight and durability. The hydraulic Shimano discs with a diameter of 160 and 140 millimeters complement the overall system and offer safety in all (life) situations thanks to a lot of power. With 52/36 teeth at the front and 11-30 teeth at the back, you cover a huge range and not only make it possible to skilfully master fast passages, but also to be able to tackle steep climbs without any problems.
