Clara Koppenburg makes her own dream come true
as a goal for the season Clara Koppenburg , "to win a race". She even dreamed about it during the night from Friday to Saturday. Only a few hours later, the 23-year-old German fulfilled her dream. At the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana she triumphed on the third stage over 110 kilometers from La Nucia to Castalla - just as prophesied in her dream as a soloist. Only two kilometers before the finish line she launched her decisive attack on the heavy Xorret de Cati. Clara Koppenburg was familiar with this increase from the training camp, which apparently gave her a great advantage: "So I knew what to expect."
First stage win & first tour win
With a whopping lead of 49 seconds over the South African Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (CCC – Liv) and 51 seconds to the Italian Soraya Paladin (Alé Cipollini) won Clara Koppenburg ultimately sovereign the queen stage. At the same time, she took the lead in the overall standings. Today, Sunday, she didn't give up on the 104-kilometer fourth stage from Valencia to Sagunto. Now she can celebrate her first UCI tour victory - and this time even without a special dream the night before.
