Cycling: Pascal Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe) won the first stage of this year's Tour of Poland. With a dominant final sprint, 24-year-old Alvaro Hodeg (Quick-Step Floors) and Mattero Trentin (Mitchelton-Scott) put them in second place.
The jersey of the German champion seems to inspire Pascal Ackermann this season. After his triumph at the RideLondon-Surrey Classic last week, the Bora-Hansgrohe professional was able to celebrate his second victory in the second race after the national championship competitions today at the start of the Tour of Poland in Kraków. In the final, Ackermann showed great sensitivity for the right situation and attacked early on. He caught the competition, especially Alvaro Hodeg, on the wrong foot and was ultimately able to secure his fourth win of the season without any problems.
After this success, Ackermann will of course also be at the start tomorrow in the jersey of the overall leader.
