Sibiu Cycling Tour #3b: Bora – hansgrohe finishes with a double victory

July 26, 2020 by Michael Behringer

Ackerman Sibiu

Cycling: Bora – hansgrohe has once again managed to achieve a double victory at the Sibiu Cycling Tour. Pascal Ackermann won the last section ahead of teammate Michael Schwarzmann.

Ackermann with second victory

Once again, the German WorldTour team Bora - hansgrohe did not miss a beat in the mass sprint of the Sibiu Cycling Tour. Stage 3b started after 109,0 kilometers with start and finish in Sibiu Pascal Ackermann in front of his teammate Michael Schwarzman. Together they were able to open up a gap in the last few meters - also after the preliminary work of their teammates. The numerous curves and the cobblestones did not allow for a classic mass sprint. Pascal Ackermann thus won his second stage in the course of this tour. The Romanian Eduard Michael Grosu (Nippo – Delko One Provence) can be happy about third place today. The German drove when he was only 20 years old Lars Kulbe (SKS Sauerland NRW) an excellent sixth place.

Mühlberger wins the Sibiu Cycling Tour

As expected, there were no major changes in the overall standings. With Gregor Muehlberger as first and Patrick Conrad the German racing team Bora – hansgrohe celebrated a double victory here as well. The Swiss is third overall Matteo Badilatti (Israel Start-Up Nation) honored. Impressive: Davide rebel (Meridiana Kamen Team) finishes the tour in eighth place overall. The Italian will be 49 years old in a few days. In 1996 - more than 24 years ago - he already won a stage at the Giro d'Italia.
