Product news: The bike brand Liv, which is specially geared towards women, is expanding its range with two full-suspension e-mountain bikes. The Intrigue E+ with 150/140 mm travel is aimed at all riders looking for an agile bike for any terrain. For the electrified chase over trails, Liv Cycling has put the Embolden E+ on wheels with 130/120 mm travel.
After last year's introduction of the first Liv e-bikes, Giant's sister brand is now launching two new e-fullys. The two wheels are called Intrigue E+ and Embolden E+ - and are aimed exclusively at women. Built according to Liv's 3F design philosophy, which is based on thousands of data sources on women's anatomy, size variations and muscle energy, these two models are also designed to offer the driver a perfect driving experience. For extra range, the Intrigue E+ and Embolden E+ feature Giant's Hybrid Cycling Technology, which is based on the four key technologies SyncDrive, RideControl, PedalPlus and EnergyPak.
The new, intuitively operated RideControl ONE mounted on the handlebars enables the rider to control the motor support as well as feedback from the battery. RideControl ONE also connects to a multifunctional smartphone app. This makes it possible to track tours, navigate and set fitness goals based on various measurements (heart rate, time, distance or calories). It is also possible to personalize the motor support. The app, which was specially developed for Liv and Giant's hybrid cycling technology, will be available from the beginning of September.
The two new models Intrigue E+ and Embolden E+ have differences in terms of motorization. The Liv Intrigue E+ uses a Yamaha-powered SyncDrive Pro motor with five assist modes and eleven micro-assist modes. The system generates up to 80 Newton meters of torque and offers up to 360% pedal assistance. The Liv Embolden E+'s SyncDrive Sport motor includes five support modes, ten micro-support modes and up to 350% pedal support with 80 Newton meters. The updated EnergyPak with 400 or 500 Wh is seamlessly integrated into the down tube on both models. Thanks to Smart Charger technology, the 500 Wh battery can be fully charged in just 3,5 hours.
The Intrigue E+ comes with 150/140 mm travel and the proven Giant Maestro chassis. Characteristic is the all-mountain trail geometry with a flat 66,5° head tube angle, a steep 74,5° seat tube angle and 27,5 inch wheels. The Embolden E+ also rolls on 27,5 inch wheels, but features FlexPoint Premier Single Pivot technology at the rear. The 130/120 mm spring travel should guarantee the rider smooth surfing over trails. Both new Liv bikes will be available in two configurations and four frame sizes from the summer.
