The racing bikes of the WorldTour teams 2024: These are the bikes of the professionals

March 29, 2024 by Florian Nowak

Cycling Dookoła Mazowsza

The racing bikes of the 2024 WorldTour teams: The spring classics are in full swing and after Milan Sanremo at the latest, every die-hard cycling fan should have taken a look at the partly new WorldTour teams of the 2024 season. In addition to the various transfers, there is also a change in sponsors every year and so the teams can be seen with new bikes and new suppliers. We have created an overview and show the racing bikes of the WorldTour Teams 2024.

Which professional will ride which racing bike in the 2024 season and which new suppliers will be on board with the teams and will provide new components, gear groups, wheels and much more?

In the past there was often a predominance of Specialized in the rider field, which sometimes even had three teams at the start of the Tour de France. In 2024 there will now be three bike manufacturers, Specialized, Canyon and Willier, each of which will be represented by two teams in the WorldTour. Specialized continues to rely on the Soudal Quick-Step and Bora-hansgrohe teams and the German manufacturer Canyon also remains loyal to its Alpecin-Deceuninck and Movistar teams. A second team will be added by the Italian manufacturer Willier, who will not only join the Astana Qasaqztan team in 2024, but also the French team Groupama-FDJ. The latter are handing over their long-standing partner Lapierre, who no longer supplies a WorldTour team. What is a little more surprising at this point is that the Swiss manufacturer BMC is no longer in the top league of cycling. The French team Decathlon AG2R Citroën, with a new name sponsor, also gets the racing bikes from Decathlon, which run under the Van Rysel brand.

There are also some changes in the components, but this confirms the trend of the last few years. The traditional Italian manufacturer Campagnolo will no longer be found in the WorldTour in 2024. A total of 14 teams rely on Shimano components with Bora-hansgrohe, Visma-Lease a Bike, Lidl-Trek and Movistar, four teams with Sram groupset.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
