MTB News: The Koblenz bike manufacturer Canyon is expanding its commitment to competitive sports. Exactly one day before the announcement of the 2018 licensed teams by the UCI, Canyon is letting the cat out of the bag. The XCM Pro team "Canyon Topeak Factory Racing" starts in 2018 with the reigning mountain bike marathon world champion Alban Lakata, Kristian Hynek, Jeremiah Bishop and Erik Kleinhans with in-house license and under a new flag.
The German bicycle manufacturer Canyon has acquired another pro-sport license. The people from Koblenz are once again underlining their consistent commitment to competitive sports. Under the name "Canyon Topeak Factory Racing", the company is sending a strong marathon team into the 2018 MTB racing season with Alban Lakata, Kristian Hynek, Jeremiah Bishop and Erik Kleinhans. The new XCM Pro team is part of the team already riding Canyon bikes Topeak Ergon Racing Teams. While the Topeak Ergon Racing Team will be more active in the USA in the future, the Canyon Topeak Factory Racing Team will start as a fully licensed UCI team. In this regard, the cycling association UCI will officially announce the Canyon Topeak Factory Racing Team as the licensed team for the start of the 09 season tomorrow, Friday, February 2018th, 2018. The hardtail Exceed CF and the Racefully Lux CF are used as tools for the marathon team. The focus is on top placings at the Absa Cape Epic in South Africa and defending Alban Lakata's world title.
