Cycling: Peter Sagan from the Bora-hansgrohe team has it fourth stage of the Tour Down Under 2018 won. The world champion from Slovakia not only takes the lead in the points classification, but also in the overall standings. After the race he asked himself a few questions – but first he had to eat something.
Sagan: "I'm very happy... sorry, I've got to eat first."
You just have to love this guy. Peter Sagan is besieged by a reporter from Australian television immediately after the race. While he asks the world champion his first question, Sagan first tries to eat something. After delaying the question did not bring the desired result, the interview was interrupted. After all: Peter Sagan has made a first statement.
"I'm very happy... sorry, I have to eat something first."
"I've got to eat first." That's fair enough, @petosagan!!! With temperatures hitting 45C at times, it was no easy feat for him to win @BupaAustralia Stage 4 the way he did. He's also grabbed the Ocher Leader's Jersey!! legend 🙌🏻#TDU pic.twitter.com/je0CHP3Ta4

"Tomorrow's stage is much harder"
After Peter Sagan treated himself to his well-deserved meal, the interview could still be carried out. But he hasn't swallowed his food all the way down yet. He has huge glasses on his head. When the reporter said that this was surely the hottest race of his career, he gave a surprising answer.
"Nearly! At the Tour of California five years ago we had a stage in Palm Springs. Two guys from the field fell off their bikes. That was not nice."
Hard to believe: Although Peter Sagan is not at the start of the Tour Down Under for the first time, this was his first stage win.
"That's great! I've already won the criterion and now we're going to continue like this here. That is very nice. Every day a different driver wins. I think that is also very good for the race.”
Despite being in the lead, Sagan doesn't think he has a chance of overall victory - at least that's what he says.
“We all know why we are here. It's great for Jay. He drives home here. Tomorrow's stage is much harder than today's.”
