General: BikeYoke REVIVE MAX: Long-Travel Vario seat post for 34.9 oversized seat tubes

28 January 2018 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: With the REVIVE Vario seat post, the young bike manufacturer BikeYoke has catapulted itself to the top of our list of the best. The very good workmanship and the perfect function were just as convincing in the Velomotion test as the great remote and the simple venting. Now BikeYoke is following up with the REVIVE MAX: The long-travel telescopic seat post with a stroke of up to 185 mm was specially developed for 34.9 oversized seat tubes.

A major shortcoming of previous 34.9 Vario seat posts is undoubtedly the design. While the diameter of the down tube is thickened to match that of the seat tube, the top tube is disregarded in this respect. This not only affects the optics, but also potential in terms of stability and reliability is wasted. The young bike manufacturer BikeYoke is now taking up this approach with the REVIVE MAX. The complete Vario seat post was specially developed for the larger seat tube diameter. The wall thicknesses of the upper and lower tubes have been optimized, and the inner workings have also been adapted.

In contrast to the normal REVIVE with 25 mm, the REVIVE MAX has a 28 mm stanchion. The Vario seat post is available in three versions with a stroke of 125 to 185 mm. According to the manufacturer, the weight is between 530 and 630 grams, depending on the model. The Triggy handlebar remote can be connected to all common brake models with a direct mount option. Matching I-Spec adapters are available for Shimano brakes. The right I-Spec II adapter is new, with which SRAM shifters can now also be mounted directly on Shimano brakes without an additional clamp. Previously, the I-Spec II adapter was only available for the left.
