Scarponi Tirreno Adriatico

Cycling: April 22, 2017 will go down in history as a black day for cycling. Michele Scarponi died in a training accident. In his honour, the fifth stage of Tirreno-Adriatico 2018 will end in his home town of Filottrano. In 2009, the Italian himself won the week-long tour "between the seas".

Race director Mauro Vegni: "With the stage final in Filottrano we want to commemorate a friend, the unforgettable Michele Scarponi."
