MTB Cycling/Lifestyle: On Friday the world will be upside down again - at least for the participants of the Red Bull Rampage 2017! The world's most spectacular mountain bike event calls the best freeriders onto the scene again this year in order to convince the critical jury with the most crass tricks. To the delight of the spectators on site or in the living room at home, the riders can expect another new zone at the 12th edition.
No event on the mountain bike calendar requires as much courage and skill from riders as Red Bull Rampage. Next Friday, the 12th edition will take place in Utah's iconic Navajo sandstone mountains. 21 riders face the spectacular terrain and will try to convince the jury with a blatant line, heavy tricks and dizzying drops. Four factors are included in the rating: the difficulty of the line selection, height and size of the jumps, control and flow, and of course the tricks shown and the style. The line is as individual as each rider: Each rider has to build the line himself, including jumps, drops and berms, without using any machines - he only gets help from a two-man dig team. The riders have two attempts on Friday to inspire the judges. The jury consists of six Rampage veterans plus Randy Spangler.
The Red Bull Rampage 2017 spectacle will be broadcast on Red Bull TV on Friday 27 October from 18:00 (CET). Already in the night from Thursday to Friday (0:00 a.m.) there is a live report on the training and the preparations. For the first time, the transmission will also include a German commentary. Guido Heuber will be accompanied in the German live stream by German freeride legend Andi Wittman.
