MTB News: Just one week after the action-packed season opener in Albstadt, the 2019 UCI Cross-Country Mountain Bike World Cup is coming to Nové Město in the Czech Republic. With its short but steep uphills and very steep descents, the route is extremely demanding. Around 30.000 fans are expected on site over the three days.
The UCI Cross-Country Mountain Bike World Cup 2019 enters the second round. Only a few days after the races in Bullenäle, the next meeting of the cross-country elite is coming up. In the Eastern European mountain bike mecca of Nové Město, pros can look forward to extremely demanding routes – and a deafening backdrop. About 30.000 fans, who the organizer expects over the three days, will take care of the latter. The technical course has a length of 3,7 kilometers with about 170 meters of altitude difference. Annika Langvad from Denmark and Nino Schurter in particular have good memories of Nové Město. In Albstadt, however, the Swiss only finished sixth. How is the shape in Nové Město? Mathias Flückiger, also from Switzerland, and the American Kate Courtney will certainly do everything in their power to repeat their victories from Albstadt. Of course, the cross-country specialist Mathieu van der Poel should also be looked at. When will the Dutchman claim his first XCO World Cup victory?
