Cyclocross news: With the Genesis NRW Cross Cup, a separate cyclocross racing series will take place this year in North Rhine-Westphalia. Licensed drivers of all classes are welcome at the four dates and it should also be worth stopping by for hobby drivers.
This year North Rhine-Westphalia gets its own CX racing series. The organizing cycling association NRW and of course sponsors make it possible. The namesake and title sponsor is the English manufacturer Genesis - the connection to NRW also came about here thanks to the German distributor Traffic Distribution, which has been bringing the British bikes onto the market in this country since the beginning of the season. The two co-sponsors Alexrims and Panaracer are also very interested in the sport of cyclocross and are therefore happy to give the new racing series a little help.
NRW is predestined as the venue for the races: Not only because it is the most populous federal state, but also because of its proximity to the CX strongholds of the Netherlands and Belgium. Numerous athletes and spectators from the Benelux region are likely to find their way across the border to start at one of the four dates or to loudly cheer on the drivers from the side of the track.
All license classes for women and men are welcome at the races. There will also be hobby races at one or the other event. Special attention was also paid to the youngsters: all races have junior races for licensed drivers and amateur pilots.
The series started last weekend in Dorsten. It continues on October 21st in Radevormwald, and it ends in Pulheim in mid-December.
