Cycling: It finally worked for Danny Van Poppel (Sky). On the fifth stage of the Tour de Pologne, the Dutchman was able to celebrate the day's victory for the first time after three placements on the podium.
Peter Sagan extends his lead
24-year-old Danny Van Poppel was faster than Luka Mezgec (Orica-Scott) and Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) on the 130-kilometer stretch from Olimp Nagawczyna to Rzeszów. The world champion was able to further extend his lead thanks to the time bonus. Teammate Rafal Majka (Bora-hansgrohe) also finished in the first group of 53 people. As expected, a preliminary decision about the overall victory has not yet been made in the Tour of Poland.
