Test: Crossover for everyday use: Merida combines a full-suspension MTB chassis (including a long
spring deflection) with StVZO equipment and thus creates a real commuting sedan chair that does not shy away from potholes or curbs. The wide Conti tires provide additional comfort; the "Twentyniner" rolls well and ensures safe straight-line stability. With wide handlebars and a slight stretch, the sitting position is similar to that on a mountain bike. The snappy disc brakes also fit into this category. The Shimano mid-motor then accelerates rather cautiously, but drives very pleasantly, apart from the quite loud drive noise. The range is also really sufficient for longer tours - preferably on nature trails, where the high-quality suspension of the Merida can shine.
