Having finished second in each of the previous two years, Nicholi Rogatkin claimed his first win at Crankworx Rotorua. He is also the first non-Canadian to win the prestigious event. The 21-year-old American showed the most spectacular and cleanest run of all the riders. His run convinced fans and judges alike and deservedly won the first round of the Diamond Series with 95.66 points ahead of Italy's Torquato Testa (93.00 points) and Emil Johansson (92.00 points) from Sweden.
