7 December 2016 by Andrew Waldera

MTB cycling: A few weeks after the stage locations were announced, the exact route of the Bike Transalp 2017 is now set. A total of 539,80 kilometers with 18.185 meters of altitude difference are on the program for the seven-day mountain bike stage race across the Alps. The 20th edition of the classic will start in Mayrhofen, the finish of the race marks Riva del Garda.

When planning the route for the anniversary edition, the route planners had one clear idea in mind: to offer the participating teams of two the full dose of mountain biking on the most beautiful routes in the Alps - for seven days! The 20th edition contains well-known classics such as Munt da Rina or Pfitscherjoch, but also offers unfamiliar terrain at the end of the race. The Bike Transalp 2017 will take place from July 16th to 22nd, registration is already open.
