Cycling: The new German top team BORA-Hansgrohe surprised in the past few weeks with numerous top commitments for the coming season. Today the racing team based in Raubling in Upper Bavaria announced the final squad for the coming season - and it's impressive.
In the course of this announcement, three more newcomers were announced: Aleksejs Saramotins and Matteo Pelucchi join the German team from IAM Cycling and Jay McCarthy also finds his new sporting home at Bora-Hansgrohe after the end of Tinkoff.
Team Manager Ralph Denk: "I think we did our job and were able to put together an attractive squad. It is important to me that around a third of the drivers continue to come from Germany. We are a German team with German sponsors, this must also be reflected in the squad. We were also able to fill some key positions very well in our support staff, for example Lars Teutenberg is our new Performance Director. Jens Zemke and Jan Valach are new to the team as sporting directors. In the area of training control, we have completely repositioned ourselves and are now hiring 3 trainers. All in all, I am sure that we offer our drivers a very professional environment. This is particularly important for our young drivers in order to promote successful development in the years to come.”
