Cycling: Peter Sagan, his brother Juraj and Erik Baska have contracted the corona virus. This was announced by the Bora – hansgrohe team on Saturday.
Sagan is showing mild symptoms
Now Peter Sagan has gotten it too. Like his brother Juraj and teammate Erik Baska, the three-time world champion has contracted the corona virus. As the German team Bora - hansgrohe announced via social media, all three professionals in the training camp on Gran Canaria are in quarantine at home.
Ralph Denk:
“The point in time is certainly not ideal, but on the other hand there is also no good point in time for a Covid disease. Peter was and is highly motivated, so he was already quite far in his development. But the most important thing is that none of the three are showing a difficult course and are doing well so far.”
Peter Sagan:
“On January 29th we all had a PCR test to be able to fly home. Since we tested positive, we have had very good support from the team. I would like to thank Ralph Denk and our team doctors for that. We are in constant contact, even though we are far apart. I hope the next test will be negative and we can start training again as soon as possible.”
