It's that time again! My second greeting home from the other side of the pond. We're really having a great time here, even though we all had a really tough day today. As already announced in the last blog, a heavy ride over 180km and 2.000m in altitude was on the menu today. There were two passes to master, both at over 2.000m altitude - the air was correspondingly thin.
Of course we all had fun anyway (or maybe one or the other because of that?)! As you can see in the pictures, the conditions are still absolutely fantastic and the landscape leaves you speechless every time. Anyone who has the chance should take a look at the area on a bike.
Next on the agenda is a rest day in Crested Butte. While all hell breaks loose here in winter, the fantastically situated place now offers more than enough opportunities to relax in late summer... But if you're more in the mood for action, you can swing on your MTB or look at the lakes in the area. I think I'll take it easy - after all, there's still one or the other difficult day on the bike ahead! The day after tomorrow, for example, 'The Cannibal Classic' to Creede, where Colorado's steepest pass awaits the very brave. If you don't want to do that to yourself, you can also take a seat in the escort vehicle.
Bye for now,
Your Ulle
