Lifestyle: The Bavarian state capital can look forward to the finest slopestyle action this weekend: The FMB Diamond Series is stopping in Munich as part of the Swatch Prime Line at MASH event. Qualification for the final on Saturday starts tomorrow afternoon.
There are two direct reasons for looking up this weekend: The big airs and blatant tricks will certainly give some spectators a stiff neck, but the weather is also a concern. After the cancellation of the event in Les Gets due to the weather, everyone is of course hoping for a rain and storm-free weekend in Munich. The venue for the slopestyle spectacle is the site of the 1972 Summer Olympics. The Swatch Prime Line course in Munich is the only FMB Diamond Series course in a city this year.
Of course, the top stars of the scene don't need to be asked long to take part in such a top-class event. The starting list for the third FMB Diamond event in 2016 includes the current leader, Nicholi Rogatkin from the USA, the Canadian Brett Rheeder and Thomas Genon from Belgium. Also very eager to win is Sam Pilgrim, the only Brit in the starting field. In the last two years he has only narrowly failed to win the title. So the Brit still has a score to settle!
Tomorrow from 16.30pm 23 riders will be fighting for a top 15 place to secure a starting place for Saturday's finale. The finals will be webcast live on the official FMB Diamond Series website starting at 16.30:XNUMX p.m.
