A warm hello from sunny Mallorca to cold and stormy Germany! I'm at this right now champion training on the way and I'll tell you, there's been a lot going on here the last few days. But one after the other.
After we all got together on Saturday, we rolled up, got to know each other and acclimatized on the Sa Torre cycle path, which led us directly along the coast for about 50km. This is how the season can start! We cover the few kilometers very relaxed and enjoy the rest of the day.
On Sunday the first longer tour was already waiting for us. In the south of the island it should go about 120km to Sant Jordi and Ses Salines. Before we started, however, there was a really nice reunion for me: I met my former athletic director Rudy Pevenage and spent a few kilometers together bike to bike, just like in the good old days.
The next day, finally, a few meters of altitude were on the agenda. Our trip took us to the center of the island to Costitx, before we tackled the Randa Cura monastery mountain on the way back. But the hard work up there is definitely worth it: the view from there is truly magnificent.
The following Tuesday was no training - I had a few appointments that kept me busy all day. In addition to a photo shoot for an interview with the English Cyclist Magazine, ZDF was also a guest. Always this hustle and bustle... I can hardly wait to get back on the bike!
Until then,
your owl
