Market: NuVinci Cycling should have been known to fans and fans of gear hubs for some time. The hubs with stepless shifting processes are also very popular on the e-bike and pedelec market. With the NuVinci N330, manufacturer Fallbrook Technologies is now presenting a new hub that is intended to offer a cheap entry into the world of stepless shifting.
The NuVinci N360 is the hub par excellence for many geared hub users and the stepless shift feel is becoming popular with more and more people. So far, however, the big problem has always been the steep price: €360 is due for the N360 hub. Of course, this problem was also known at NuVinci: “Our customers have clearly confirmed to us that they love the soft and stepless feel of our unique NuVinici Optimized transmission. So we decided we wanted to bring this technology to a larger market,” said Davic Hancock, vice president at NuVinci Cycling.
In the future, the N330 hub should make it possible to also equip complete wheels in the mid-price segment - and sales manager Roland ten Brinke is certain: "We have done our homework." The data on the hub is indeed very easy to read. It is based on the hub body of the more expensive N360 and also offers the stepless shift feel of the larger sister hub. It is controlled either with the new C3 controller, which mechanically corresponds to the twist grip switch of the N360, but for price reasons has to do without the interactive display.
The new N330 will certainly also be used on e-bikes: it can be easily combined with the Harmony Hub Interfaces and can therefore be controlled fully automatically. It is approved for use with front and middle motors up to 250 watts. The exact specifications will be announced at the current Taipei Cycle Show. We will keep you up to date.
